Why We Do It🙋🏾‍♀️

Founded in February 2023, Village Tumblahz, is a Black Woman Owned Family Business birthed by Shonta Smith.

She has left her footprintz in many Villagez!

    How It Started

Born in Bronx, NY🌍Raised in Charleston, SC🌍Adulting in Atlanta, GA

Shonta is a crafter at heart which gels well with her woodworking skills. She comes with a humble soul, lots of jokes, and a great sense of humor. She enjoys watching re-runs of Everybody Hates Chris, 227 and The Jeffersons. She also loves traveling and spending time with her close friends and family.

Village Tumblahz was birthed from passion and frustration.  Shonta used her frustration regarding the lack of generational wealth in her family and community and embraced the passion she has for the younger generation.  Raised in a single parent home Shonta's no stranger to the Village helping her mom out.  As a young girl, her aunts would pick her up for fun and educational summers in Raleigh, NC. Paying it forward, every summer after graduating college, Shonta brings her nieces, nephews, and cousins to Atlanta for the same fun and educational experiences she remembers.  Now that most of the kids are getting older, she's going to them!!!

Shonta immediately went into her "I'll Find A Way Or Make One" mode acquired by her Alma Mater Clark Atlanta University and put together a business plan and investment opportunity for her family and members of the community to start a family business that employs and empowers the youth in their families and generates sustainable generational wealth.  She presented the plan to everyone, they believed in it and agreed to invest in the business.

After comprehending the gravity of having so many people believe in and invest in her dream, Shonta became even more RESILIENT and DETERMINED. She knew this was confirmation of a GOD Assignment and put the plan in motion!!!

Shonta immediately created a Generational Wealth Development Program. The program is curriculum based, part of the Implementation process, and focuses on building and developing self worth, mental health, conflict resolution, financial literacy, and many more of the essential skills. Entering and successfully completing the required curriculum courses in addition to investing in the family business is mandatory for our Captainz and Architectz to secure employment at Village Tumblahz.
